About us...
Play Together has responsibility for promoting and enhancing play in Sunderland. In order to achieve this we provide the following services:
Funding
Play Together can provide funding to voluntary and community play projects to provide play activities to children aged 5-16 years during school holiday periods.
Playwork Training
A range of playwork training is on offer including nationally recognised playwork qualifications at NVQ levels 1,2 and 3. Short courses and taster sessions can also be arranged covering a range of subjects such as art and craft ideas, group games, creative play, basic health and safety training and risk assessment.
For further detail on this, please contact our co-ordinator and internal verifier, Louise Anderson on (0191)514 6150 or e-mail: louise.anderson@etec.org.uk
Play Resource Centre and Scrap Store
Play Together provides a successful loan scheme lending toys, books, games and play equipment to support the delivery of play activities. Membership to the resource centre is free (an annual membership fee is to be introduced in the near future). All equipment loaned can be delivered and collected to a venue of your choice free of charge. In addition we also provide a scrap store recycling unwanted materials from local business to use as art and craft materials. We have a large stock of various size card, coloured paper, sticky back plastic coloured vinyl and much more, which you can purchase for £1.50 per black bin bag. The scrap store is open for business
Monday to Friday mornings from 9.30am until 12.30pm.
