The Community Contact Centre is based within our Hudson House premises and
gives employees the opportunity to work in a live contact centre environment
to gain valuable experience while also developing their skills and improving
their qualifications.
Since the introduction of the contact centre in 2007 more than 80 people
have been employed, most of whom have been from the Hendon and East End area
of Sunderland due to funding from Back On The Map who operate ‘a new deal
for local community programmes’.
More recently the contact centre has started to employ people

across the region thanks to the ‘Future Jobs Fund’ which is a government
backed scheme aimed at helping the unemployed back into employment. This
scheme is set to run until April 2011.
Apart from the delivery of training and qualifications to our employees
‘in-house’ the contact centre also offer a range of external services to
clients such as local businesses, social enterprises, voluntary and community
organisations.
In the past we have carried out work for The Candy Man,
Northumbria Police, Chance Community Centre and SES among others.
