The Children’s Essentials Service provides static and outreach toy library services across Sunderland, Washington and the Coalfield area.

As well as toys for loan, toy libraries sell affordable craft materials to encourage children’s creativity and interaction.

Local venues are Valley Road School, Bangladeshi Centre, Hudson Road School and Grangetown School.    

The service is also responsible for the promotion of child safety.

This includes the sale of affordable, child welfare products through the toy libraries and the provision of free child home safety equipment to eligible families in partnership with the Local Authority Health Visitor service.

Children’s Essentials Service is delivered by ETEC in partnership with Sunderland City Council.
