About Us
ETEC is a Development
Trust and registered Charity
operating from ETEC House in Hendon
Sunderland and from rented industrial units on Sunderland's
Lombard Street Estate.
These
properties accommodate the large
variety of projects and services
we deliver and are used in
engaging the wider community.
In addition to the staff we
employ, we also call upon the
skills of a wide range of
volunteers to supplement our
efforts.
Founded in 1991 when it
separated from Sunderland's East
Community Association, ETEC
(originally East Training
Education and Community) has
moved from providing training,
learning and employment support
to a much wider role as a
Community Anchor organisation
within the community, most
recently becoming a Development
Trust.
We continue to see
trading and contract work as
income generating activities,
alongside the development of
Assets, Partnerships and Social
Enterprise opportunities.
ETEC works to a purpose agreed with local people which was updated in January 2010 which states:
Senior Management
